China: Steel imports remain stable, m-o-m, in Jul’22

China’s steel imports in Jul’22 stood stable at 0.79 mnt, as per data recently released by customs.
Preference for domestic steel, weak end-user demand and subdued finished steel sentiments continued to weigh on imports.
However, import volumes fell 22% to 6.56 mnt in Jan-Jul’22 as against 8.40 mnt in the same period last year.
