Steel billet prices in China’s Tangshan remained stable at RMB 3,690/t ($535/t), inclusive of 13% VAT on 31 Aug 2022. However, weak demand still prevails in the market. According to data maintained with SteelMint, China’s SHFE rebar futures contract for Jan’23 delivery closed today at RMB 3,677/t ($533/t), witnessing a slight increase of RMB 16/t ($2/t), d-o-d.
