Steel billet prices in China’s Tangshan remained stable at RMB 3,690/t ($535/t), inclusive of 13% VAT on 1 Sept’22. However, weak demand still prevails in the market. According to data maintained with SteelMint, China’s SHFE rebar futures contract for Jan’23 delivery closed today at RMB 3,642/t ($528/t), witnessing a decrease of RMB 35/t ($5/t), d-o-d.
