China: Steel billet prices rise by RMB 40/t ($6/t) d-o-d

Steel billet prices in Tangshan rose by RMB 40/t ($6/t) d-o-d to RMB 3,160/t ($441/t, including VAT), while SHFE Oct’25 rebar futures gained RMB 52/t ($7/t) to RMB 3,356/t ($468/t).
Prices increased sharply, supported by surging coking coal and capacity cut rumours. HRCs crossed RMB 3,500/t ($488/t), boosting sentiment and local sales. Mills are optimistic amid falling inventories and rising raw material costs.
