China: Steel billet prices inch up by RMB 10/t ($2/t) d-o-d

Steel billet prices in China’s Tangshan edged up by RMB 10/t ($2/t) d-o-d to RMB 3,010/t ($410/t) on 15 Jan’25. Prices include 13% VAT.
Rising raw material and finished steel prices, as well as rebar futures, and decreasing inventory levels with demand recovery have contributed to the uptrend in billet prices.
SHFE rebar futures (May’25 delivery) increased by RMB 7/t ($1/t) d-o-d to RMB 3,290/t ($449/t) on 15 Jan.
