China: Steel billet prices inch down by RMB 20/t ($3/t) d-o-d

  • Billet prices in Tangshan fell d-o-d by RMB 20/t ($3/t) to RMB 3,530/t ($496/t) on 29 May’24. Prices include 13% VAT.
  • Fall in raw material, finished steel prices and weak demand have weighed on billet prices.
  • However, SHFE rebar futures (Oct’24 delivery) edged up by RMB 8/t ($1/t) d-o-d to RMB 3,753/t ($528/t) on 29 May’24.
