China: Steel billet prices fall RMB 30/t ($4/t) post New Year holidays

Domestic billet prices in China’s Tangshan fell by RMB 30/t ($4/t) to RMB 3,750/t ($543/t), inclusive of 13% VAT on 3 Jan’23.
A drop in futures pulled down billet prices, SteelMint notes.
China’s SHFE rebar futures contract for May’23 delivery closed today at RMB 4,063/t ($588/t), a decrease of RMB 42/t ($6/t) as against the closing on 30 Dec’22.
