China: Steel billet prices fall by RMB 20/t ($3/t) d-o-d

Steel billet prices in China’s Tangshan fell by RMB 20/t ($3/t) d-o-d to RMB 2,970/t ($405/t) on 7 Jan’25. Prices include 13% VAT.
Slow buying interest, drop in raw material prices and rebar futures weighed on billet tags.
Meanwhile, SHFE rebar futures (May’25 delivery) decreased by RMB 13/t ($2/t) d-o-d to RMB 3,239/t ($442/t) today.
