China: Steel billet prices edge up RMB 30/t ($4/t)

Tangshan, China’s steel billet price rose by RMB 30/t ($4/t) to RMB 3,070/t ($423/t) against 21 Mar’25, including 13% VAT.
The rise in trading activity, and finished steel prices, and rebar futures, coupled with declining inventory, have contributed to the support to billet prices.
SHFE rebar futures (May’25) rose by RMB 48/t ($7/t) to RMB 3,204/t ($442/t) on 24 Mar’25 against 21 Mar’25.
