China: Steel billet prices edge down by RMB 20/t d-o-d

Billet prices in Tangshan, China, fell RMB 20/t ($3/t) d-o-d to RMB 3,030/t, while SHFE Oct’25 rebar futures slipped RMB 21/t to RMB 3,113/t.
Prices softened on weak demand, slower rebar consumption in Beijing ahead of the 3 Sep’25 National Day show, and a 0.25 mnt rise in inventory.
Export offers held steady amid muted demand. Raw material prices eased 0.8%, prompting weak sentiment and uncertainty.
