China: Steel billet prices drop by RMB 40/t ($6/t) d-o-d

Steel billet prices in Tangshan fell by RMB 40/t ($6/t) d-o-d to RMB 2,870/t ($403/t) on 3 Sep’24. Prices included 13% VAT.
Amid low demand, a fall in raw material and finished steel prices have put pressure on billet prices.
Meanwhile, SHFE rebar futures (Jan’25 delivery) decreased by RMB 74/t ($10/t) to RMB 3,149/t ($442/t) on 3 Sep’24.
