China: Stainless steel output rises 5% y-o-y in CY’25

China’s stainless steel production reached 40.02 mnt in CY’25 compared with 38.29 mnt a year earlier, up 5% y-o-y. The 300-series dominated output at 21.02 mnt, rising 6% y-o-y, while 200-series production increased by 3% to 11.73 mnt and 400-series output grew 4% to 7.27 mnt. However, Dec output fell 4% m-o-m to 3.5 mnt due to a seasonal slowdown, weak demand, and cautious operating rates at mills.
