China: Spot iron ore prices rise by $1/t d-o-d amid improved liquidity conditions

Iron ore fines (Fe 62%) spot prices increased by $0.80/t d-o-d to $99.95/t CFR China on 7 May’25 amid strong trading and improved liquidity for medium-grade fines following China’s market resumption. The northward march of prices was further supported by healthy margins of steel mills, which enabled producers to keep sourcing spot cargoes.
