China: Spot iron ore prices rise amid positive outlook post-Lunar New Year

The spot prices of iron ore in China increased d-o-d following the Lunar New Year holidays, and market players remained optimistic about steel and iron ore demand. Benchmark Fe 62% fines prices rose by $2.25/t to $124.95/t CFR China on 19 Jan’23. On the Chinese side, seaborne buying interest was poor as the majority of participants settled into the holidays.
