Iron ore fines (Fe 62%) spot prices increased by $1.00/t d-o-d to $99.15/t CFR China on 6 May’25, following the Labour Day holidays. Despite speculation regarding steel production cuts, prices rose, as demand for downstream products picked up. Increased trade for non-mainstream and low-grade products continued to drive expectations of a shift in demand patterns due to lower blast furnace productivity.
