China: Spot iron ore prices edge lower on bearish sentiments

The spot price of iron ore benchmark Fe 62% fines fell by $6.45/t to $153.05/t CFR China on 18 Aug’21 as market sentiments continue to remain bearish. Most end-users are showing a preference for discounted fines over premiums due to production cuts in China. The near-term demand outlook is bleak which may keep spot prices under pressure.
