Jiangsu Shagang, a China based steel making company plans to build two 2,340 cubic meters blast furnaces, each having a capacity of producing 2 MnT pa of steel in a year, according to the bureau’s notice. This will reduce emissions and costs at the same time.
The first large-sized blast furnace will go under construction by Mar’20 and end up completing in Aug’21, while the other one will start in the Dec’21 and be completed in Mar’23.
Meanwhile, the largest private steelmaker in China will shut four 480m3 blast furnaces and four 580m3 permanently, as Beijing does not allow new steel capacity expansion.
Jiangsu Shagang Group is one of the Superking-sized National Industrial Enterprises, the Largest Private Steel Enterprise in China, and its headquarters is located in Zhangjiagang City, Jiangsu Province. As per World Steel Association, the company produced tonnage of 40.66 MnT in CY18.
