China: Scrap imports fall over 70% y-o-y in Apr’22

China’s ferrous scrap imports fell considerably by 71% to 20,386 t in Apr’22 compared to 71,433 t in Apr’21, as per data maintained with SteelMint.
On a m-o-m basis, imports were up 10% against 18,615 t in Mar’22.
Japan retained its position as the leading ferrous scrap exporter to China with 16,162 t, followed by South Korea with 2,797 t in Apr’22.
