China resumes coal imports from Inner Mongolia after 7 months

China resumed coal imports from Inner Mongolia with the latter’s Ceke Port (on the border) resuming customs clearance from 25 May, after being closed for 7 months due to Covid. About 25-30 trucks may get cleared on first day, carrying around 4,000 tonnes of coal to China. This will gradually increase to 100-120 trucks per day. In 2021, China’s coal imports from Ceke comprised 29% of total Mongolian coal procured.
