Chinese mills reported a sizeable drop in long steel production m-o-m in April 2022, as per National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
Product-wise break up:
- Rebar production stood at 20.55 mnt, down 14% y-o-y.
- Wire rods output decreased by 13% to 12.44 mnt on the year.
During the first four months (Jan-Apr’22), China’s rebar and wire rod production fell by 14% and 16% respectively against the year-ago period.
