China: Power usage rises 4% in Mar’22

China’s power consumption recorded a 4% y-o-y rise to 694.4 TWh in Mar’22, as per data released by the country’s National Energy Administration. The industrial sector was the highest consumer of electricity at 479 TWh, followed by residential, service, and agricultural sectors. During Jan-Mar’22, the country’s total power consumption stood at 2,042.3 TWh, up 5% y-o-y.
