Ahead of a sharp rise in power generation in the peak summer season, power plants in China are stepping up their coal stock levels. This came as lockdown restriction in the country compelled utilities to go slow on restocking for low daily consumption volumes. Power generation during Jan-Mar’22 grew at a small pace with increased power generation from renewable energy.
