China: Power generation falls 4% in April amid lockdown restrictions

Amid strict lockdown restrictions in China, power generation fell by 4.3% y-o-y to 608.6 bn kWh in Apr’22, data from the National Bureau of Statistics show. On a m-o-m basis, power generation remained stable. During Jan-Apr’22, overall power generation reached 2.6 trn kWh, up marginally by 1% y-o-y.
