China’s power consumption fell for the second straight month in Sept’21 as power rationing coupled with the offset of summer season curtailed demand for electricity. According to data provided by the National Energy Administration, the country’s power consumption decreased 9% m-o-m to 694.7 billion units (BU) in Sept’21 against 760.7 BU in Aug’21. Of the total volume, power consumption by the industrial sector was 584 BU, while the remaining was utilised by the residential sector.
