China plans to remove export barriers for coke by Dec 2012

China is in plans to end the export tariff on Coke exports
by the end of this year in compliance with the WTO rules.

Last year, the WTO had regarded Beijing's 40% tax , the license
and quota system as a violation of WTO bylaws. So, China is said to fix it by
31st Dec this year.

According to market participants, “The removing of
the export duty on Coke would benefit Chinese market as the domestic demand is
weak at present. Russia & Ukraine are two major suppliers of Coke in the global
market. So, Chinese coke would face strong competition from these countries.
But China's coke exports would become more competitive once the tariff is
removed”.
