China: Non-coking coal imports fall by 42% in Jan-Oct’22

China’s non-coking coal imports fell by 42% y-o-y in Jan-Oct’22. The fall can be attributed to the rising domestic non-coking coal production. Coal output totalled 3.69 bnt during Jan-Oct’22 period, up by 10% y-o-y, while coal production capacity has expanded by more than 62 mnt in 2022. China imported 4.9 mnt of non-coking coal in Oct’22.
