China: Met coke production falls 2.9% y-o-y in Jul’21

China’s metallurgical (met) coke output was 38.79 mn t in Jul’21, down 2.9% y-o-y, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics. However during Jan-Jul’21, aggregate coke output was 276.44 mn t, up 3.2% y-o-y. Air pollution control measures are still affecting production and underpinning prices for domestically produced met coke in China.
