Chinese domestic met coke producers have proposed a second round of price hike of RMB 200/t ($32/t) on 2 Mar’22. The hike came on the back of increased demand from steel mills and reduced margins due to rising coking coal prices. The last hike came into force in the last week of February. Hebei, Tangshan (quasi-level) met coke price is currently assessed at RMB 3,320/t ($525) while Shanxi, Changzhi (quasi-level) price is at RMB 2,800/t ($443/t).
