China: Manganese ore offers rise as South32, Eramet lift November prices

  • South32 lifts November offer amid tighter availability
  • Eramet raises Gabonese ore offers across grades

South32 raises South African ore offer for November: South32 has raised its offer for South African semi-carbonate lump manganese ore for November 2026 shipments to China to $4.35/dmtu, up $0.15/dmtu m-o-m. The revised offer provides a higher benchmark for South African material ahead of November shipments, with buyers likely to assess the level against prevailing manganese ore inventories and downstream alloy-market conditions.

Eramet raises Gabonese ore offers across grades: Eramet Comilog has increased its November shipment offers for both Gabonese manganese ore grades. Mn 44.5% Gabonese lump is now offered at $4.80/dmtu CIF China, while 43% Gabonese chips are priced at $4.60/dmtu CIF China. Both grades increased by $0.10/dmtu m-o-m, establishing higher price indications for Gabonese material entering the Chinese market.

The upward revisions from both major suppliers come amid tighter spot availability and higher replacement costs, encouraging miners to maintain stronger offers for upcoming November cargoes. The increases could raise raw-material costs for Chinese manganese alloy producers, although actual transaction levels will depend on buyer acceptance, port inventories and downstream demand.
