China’s manganese ore imports rose by 30% m-o-m to 3.126 mnt in Sep’22 against 2.400 mnt in August, as per Customs. The major exporter was South Africa (1.538 mnt), Gabon (0.588 mnt), and Australia (0.422 mnt) in September due to good demand for manganese alloys in the market. Hence, manufacturers increased their inventory. However, cumulative imports dropped by 3% y-o-y to 22.255 mnt in Jan-Sep’22.
