China: Manganese ore imports fall by 27%, m-o-m, in Feb’22

Chinese manganese ore imports fell by 27% m-o-m to 1.94 mnt in Feb’22 from 2.67 mnt in Jan. The decline in imports was due to the lack of buying interest during the Chinese Lunar Year holidays. The major exporting countries to China were South Africa at 1.30 mnt and Gabon 0.26 mnt, followed by Ghana at 0.20 mnt and Australia at 0.20 mnt. Meanwhile, on a yearly basis, manganese ore imports shrunk 17% in Feb.
