Manganese ore imports by China dropped by 18.8%, m-o-m, to 2.22 mn t in Aug’21 against 2.743 mn t in Jul. The decrease in imports could be attributed to higher inventory at Chinese ports due to production cuts of manganese alloys in the Northern provinces. Manganese ore imports are up 10.6%, y-o-y, in the Jan-Aug’21 period, according to customs data.
