- China’s manganese ore imports dropped marginally by 8% to 2.4 mnt in Aug’22 against 2.6 mnt in Jul’22, as per customs data maintained with SteelMint.
- The drop in volumes was mainly because of the increase in port-side inventory amid weak demand from manganese alloy producers.
- In Jan-Aug’22, cumulative imports rose by 8% y-o-y to 19.1 mnt compared to the same period last year.
