China: Manganese ore imports down by 4% m-o-m in Nov’22

China’s manganese ore imports decreased by 4% m-o-m to 2.52mnt in Nov’22 against 2.63 mnt in Oct’22, as per Customs. The major exporters were South Africa (1.037 mnt), Gabon (0.391 mnt), and Australia (0.464 mnt) in Nov’22. Drop in imports is a result of domestic manganese alloy demand being weak. Consequently, producers cut back on imports. Meanwhile, cumulative imports were down by 2% y-o-y to 27.419 mnt in Jan-Nov’22.
