Recently, the air pollution control and prevention office in Shanxi’s Jincheng city issued a “notice on differentiated control measures for enterprises of key industries during the autumn-winter period of 2021-2022”, as per information from the Lange Steel Economic Research Centre, available to SteelMint.
The notice indicates that the measures will cover sectors like coal chemical, steelmaking (casting), cement, brick and tile making, foundry, limestone, porcelain, coking and quarrying:
1. Coal chemical industry: The Jincheng Anthracite Coal Mining Group, Shanxi Lanhua Sci-tech Venture, and Tianze Group will curb their capacities by 40%;
2. Steelmaking (casting) industry: Fusheng will pause one BF of 1380M3 and its supporting facility during the autumn-winter period. Smelting and casting enterprise like Shunshida will halt for 182 days from 1 Oct’21 till 31 Mar’22, Datong will halt for 60 days from 15 Jan-15 Mar’22, and other 5 enterprise for 50 days from 25 Jan-15 Mar’21.
3. Foundry and lime: Those companies rated A will idle their operation for 50 days from 25 Jan-15 Mar’22. Those rated B will halt for 50 days while those rated as C will stop for 92 days; and those rated D will shut down.
4. Coking: Shanxi Xinggao Energy Holding and Shanxi Xinggaosanjia Coking will extend the coking to above 70 hours during 25 Jan-15 Mar’22. Qinze Coking will extend coking to 180 hours during Jan25-15 Mar’22. Coking during other time will extend to 160 hours.
