According to sources, the spot price of iron ore improved as the Chinese market returned from the Labour Day holidays. Benchmark Fe 62% fines prices moved up by $2.9/t to $145.8/t CFR China. Medium-grade fines are more in demand and an Australian mining giant has reduced the discounts on medium-grade iron ore.
