China: Iron ore spot prices rise d-o-d amid improved steel prices

Iron ore spot prices in China increased d-o-d on rising steel prices. Benchmark Fe 62% fines prices rose by $2.6/t to $125.5/t CFR China on 9 Feb’23. News of international banks’ increased attempts to revive the Chinese real estate market supported iron ore prices. Seaborne demand was fairly low. Market participants maintained their caution despite shrinking import losses.
