China: Iron ore spot prices rise by $1/t d-o-d

Iron ore fines (Fe 62%) spot prices increased by $1.15/t d-o-d to $105.25/t CFR China on 24 Jan’25 despite slow market activity ahead of the Lunar holidays, improved fundamentals are leading to a relatively stable premium level for medium-grade fines. As per reports, market liquidity is still constrained, but improved mill margins may lead miners to offer cargoes as many participants leave for the holidays.
