China: Iron ore spot prices nudge higher d-o-d on optimistic demand outlook

Spot prices of iron ore in China increased d-o-d as the expectations of strong demand post the Lunar New Year holidays boosted trading sentiment. Benchmark Fe 62% fines prices inched up by $0.75/t to $121.5/t CFR on 17 Jan’23. The trading activities at the portside were calm as most market participants were done with their procurement ahead of the holidays.
