China: Iron ore spot prices fall d-o-d by $1/t amid slow trades

Iron ore fines (Fe 62%) spot prices decreased by $1/t d-o-d to $105.75/t CFR China on 27 Jun’24 amid sluggish trading activity following cautious buying appetite. Sellers were unwilling to sell at lower prices, while mills were aiming for lower prices. Additionally, high-silica products are currently being sold at lower prices, which suggests that steel mills may have increased their silica content requirements for the highest grade.
