China: Iron ore spot prices climb up by $3/t d-o-d amid renewed buying interest

Iron ore fines (Fe 62%) spot prices increased by $2.6/t d-o-d to $98.35/t CFR China on 10 Apr’25. Fresh trading activity supported seaborne prices, though uncertainty persisted due to US-China trade tensions. Mills also turned to alternative raw materials amid declining steel margins. However, hot metal output remains stable, and production cuts are expected, with market direction depending on supply-demand fundamentals amid ongoing trade issues.
