China: Iron ore imports decrease in Apr’21 due to shipping disruptions

China- the world’s largest iron ore consumer and importer recorded imports of iron ore at 98.57 mn t in Apr’21 as against 102.11 mn t in Mar’21, according to the General Administration of Customs. The country’s imports drop down by 3.5% on m-o-m basis due to the adverse weather disruptions. However, the demand remains robust as mills were not subject to output curbs continue to ramp up output.
