China, the world’s largest iron ore consumer and importer, recorded imports of iron ore (including pellets) at 86.06 mnt in Apr’22 as against 98.57 mnt in Apr’21, according to the General Administration of Customs. On a monthly basis, imports inched down by 1% compared to 87.28 mn t in Mar. China’s total imports were recorded at 354.38 mnt during Jan-Apr’22, down 7% y-o-y.
