China: Investments in power sector up nearly 15%, y-o-y, in Jan-Jun’22

National Energy Administration data reveals that in Jan-Jun’22 the power projects of major power generation companies in China completed an investment of RMB 215.8 billion (nearly $32 billion), up 14% y-o-y. Hydropower saw investments of 35.4 billion yuan, thermal power 34.7 billion yuan, down 71.8% y-o-y, and nuclear power 23 billion yuan. The solar power sector recorded 63.1 billion yuan investments, up over 280% y-o-y.
