In a confirmed deal, Indonesian 3700 kcal/kg GAR coal was sold at $70/t for Jun’22-loading vessel to China. The prices are at $2/t premium over the index price, which was $68/t on 21 May. With rising discounts offered by Russian miners, Indonesian coal procurement by Chinese traders has reduced drastically. However, the easing of lockdown restrictions is likely to raise enquiries for low-CV Indonesian coal in the upcoming weeks.
