China’s heavy plate (SS400) export offers declined for the sixth consecutive week, reaching a 1.5 year-low at $690/t CFR. Offers have dropped mainly due to concerns related to weak economic indicators, subdued demand, and decline in spot prices and futures. Demand for imported plates has expanded amid attractive offers, as a result negotiations with shipbuilders may result in a further drop in prices in H2CY22.
