China: Ferrous scrap imports increase 11% y-o-y in Q1’22

China imported around 43,041 t of ferrous scrap in Jan-Mar’22 (Q1CY22), up 11% against 38,602 t in Jan-Mar’21 (Q1’21), as per Steelmint data.
Imports fell by 22% against 54,992 t recorded in the last quarter (Oct-Dec’21).
Japan retained its position as the leading ferrous scrap exporter to China with 26,813 t, followed by South Korea and Taiwan with 9,864 t and 1,728 t, respectively in Jan-Mar’22.
