China: Ferrous scrap imports drop by 30% y-o-y in H1CY’24

China’s ferrous scrap imports have dropped by 30% y-o-y reaching  86,767 tonnes (t) from 1,23,878 t reported in H1CY’23. However, imports significantly dropped by 47% m-o-m as against 15,043 t in May, 2024. Japan remained the leading exporter at 3,069 t followed by South Korea and Myanmar at 2,550 t and 990 t, respectively.
