China: Ferrous scrap imports down by over 15% in CY’22

China’s ferrous scrap imports stood at 0.42 mnt in CY’22 as compared to 0.50 mnt in CY’21, down by 16 % y-o-y, as per SteelMint data.
Japan continued as top exporter with 253,032 t followed by the UK and South Korea at 95,462 t and 43,024 t respectively throughout CY’22.
China’s ferrous scrap imports stood at 19,727 t in Dec’22 as compared to 77,820 t in November, a drastic fall of 75% m-o-m.
