China’s ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry achieved a revenue of RMB 2,5910.2 billion ($3,576 bn) from Jan-Apr’24, reflecting decline of 4.2% y-o-y as compared to the previous year. The operating cost for this period was RMB 2523.70 ($348 bn), representing y-o-y decrease of 3.3%. Despite the decrease in costs, the industry incurred a loss of RMB 22.22 billion ($3 bn).
